International Library

The SHAPE International Library provides professionally directed library services in support of the educational, leisure and cultural pursuits of the SHAPE community.

Membership: Persons holding a valid SHAPE ID with MWB privileges or U.S. military ID may register at the Circulation Desk for library membership. A Library Membership Application is available for download here.
Overdue Materials: Patrons with overdue materials my not use the library until all overdue materials are returned or renewed. There are no fines.
Holds & Interlibrary Loans: The library can request items that are currently checked out or that are owned by other U.S. Army Libraries in Europe. Patrons may also browse for items via the online catalog and place up to five requests at a time after creating an online account by following the directions listed here. Patrons will be notified via e-mail when the items arrive.


Computers: Computers with access to the Internet, e-mail and Microsoft Office are available for patron use. Members must check in at the Circulation Desk in order to use a computer. 
Wireless Internet Access: Free wireless Internet access is available for members. Members must check in at the Circulation Desk in order to obtain the password and use the wireless service. 
Reference & Research Assistance: This is available in person, by phoning DSN 423-5631 or CIV 065.44.5631 or via e-mail at
Online Subscription Databases: Study for the GRE or the DANTES, get a wiring diagram for your car, research a paper for a class or read up-to-date market data and medical studies, all using
the library's online databases located at  Ask the Reference Desk for help in learning how to utilize these great tools.

 Page Turners, for adults meets the third Wednesday of each month at 1730 hrs.

Digital Magazines: Available via the library's website at under "e-content,” the service offers nearly 500 full-text, full-color digital magazines to view online or offline, from your browser or mobile device. Choose titles from many genres including art, automotive, entertainment, home, lifestyle, men, news, science and technology, sports, travel and women. All free for library members! Downloadable eBooks, Audio Books, Music and Videos: Available via the library's website at under "e-content,” the service works with a variety of devices, including a selection of eReaders, smartphones, computers and MP3 players. These services are available to patrons once they have registered and logged into their online library account. Patrons may do so by following the steps listed here. Patrons may download and print out quick start guides for use of the service with Kindles, Apple mobile devices and Nooks here or ask the librarian for assistance via email at or via phone at DSN 423-5631/CIV 065-44-5631.

Graphic Novels: Lengthy versions of comic books that appeal to all ages.
Video Games: A collection of Wii, Nintendo DS, Playstation and XBOX games in the NTSC and PAL formats and game accessories for your entertainment.
